    top of moreton

    hello all.....heading to moreton again next weekend and hopeing to do some fishing around the top end.........does anyone know much about and what to expect around smith rock,hutchies and the trench???
    any help would be appreciated..........thanks

    If it's anything like today you can expect a 12 knot forecast that actually produces gusts to 25 and a 3 metre swell with white caps........despite Sea Breeze still showing a max of 20knots and wave height of 2 metres

    The trench is an an area approx east of Huthies and the top of Moreton Island (south of caloundra wide)

    It is commonly trawelled by game boats over summer, common catches include sail fish and small marlin

    Have a look at the sunmap fishing map for moreton and the gps point available as noted by liberty

    Over summer it gets quite busy
