headed out to tempest off bribie isl at ~3am. absolute plethora of boats on the new years eve. anyway headed out in very nice conditions within the bay. Arrived at deep tempest and preceded to do the usual float line and drift. First pass nothing, so we moved abit further a field. Was about to give up at deep after about 1/2 hr without a hit then we ran into a school of snapper.
Extremely hard to hold the spot over the fish, but we got our far share. no pearlies to report unfortunately. Another boat that followed us had a couple of slimies on board. the first drop was absolutley hammered and we think it was a hook up with a submarine.
Tried shallow temp but to no avail.
I guess it shows there are still a couple of fish out deep.
