Saturday 30th. saw an opportunity in the weather pattern to have the last fish for 2006. The son inlaw (outlaw) was keen so we were on the water at Mooloolaba at 5:30am. We went to our usual spot which is not a great distance as the sea conditions were a bit choppy. Tried to troll but not good conditions for that. Dropped anchor and put out the floaties in a berley trail. First fish was a Schoolie. Then a double hookup. A bit of a surprise with both being Snapper. Next was another Snapper. All three fish boated in about 20minutes. A bit of a wait and a Spottie. Best Snapper went 1.8kg. Not huge fish but good eating. Had to be home early so up anchor and back to ramp. Great way to have the last fish for 2006. Happy New Year to all Ausfish members and tight lines for 2007.
Great feed there Thought about putting the boat in myself a bit later in the day, but the wind increased. Should have gone for it - and might have been eating snapper as well. Cheers for the new year
