Beat Up Marlin
It was time to give our Victorian mate another Queensland Fishing Experience, so we left Bribie and headed for the trench.
To say the least, it was a very scary trip over some very white water but after about 1.5 hours we arrived in the open water to find that all the bait had disappeared.
After about one hours trolling we decided to head for Hutchies. This looked a lot better. Bait everywhere and Josh quickly hooked one of the crappiest looking Marlin I have ever seen.
Because of its size, it didn’t take long to get him on board and we treated him with kid gloves (very white).
I am not sure what caused the scrapes on both sides and a damaged dorsal fin.
Should have cut it into steaks and delivered it to Jeffo but Ben is a nature lover so Mr Marlin swam off to fight another day.
We also kept Josh busy on some Ajs and Striped Tuna.
Saw some great Bait Balls full of big sharks, Cobia and Tuna.
We had a great day but the swells were like mountains.
