Re: scary trip off wide bay

    hey guys,
update on the boat took it back to where i bought it from they are footing the bill to have it repaired to set the record straight my mate was happy to follow us back but I told him to stay as we could block off one side of the hull and stop water coming in any further we were in no danger of sinking and the fuel usage was alot more than i expected so he was not to know that. also I had taken the boat for two small trips before taking it up there and everything seemed fine also with another boat tagging along we were pretty safe.I have some pictures of the spaniard and also the hole in the boat.

    cheers lochie

Did the hull have too much weight on roller's,the trip up could have caused the hull to be punctured. This same thing happened to peter rhule with one of his trailer's set up by some firm on friday arvo >

Looks to me like someone has in the past tried to drive the boat on the trailer and damaged the hull on the roller. Seen it before like that. If it is an old injury I would be checking to make sure the hull is not soft from rot.

    Best of luck.

your spot on colonel klink it has been damaged before and there is rot in the port side of the hull the starboard side is fine. It is being repaired now the place i bought it from has had it checked out and they said that it had taken a hit before and let water in it had been repaired but only from the outside I had a look at the hull when I bought it and so did the shop I bought it from and couldn't see anything out of place. They are a reputable dealer and have given me a garuntee it would be fixed properly.

    cheers
