Thread: Fishing Mags and Lady Anglers....Mmmmmm

Re: Fishing Mags and Lady Anglers....Mmmmmm

The general overtone of this subject is "who cares",and I couldn't agree more. The statement was made earlier that,if you need the boob's to sell the mag, then the content must be crap.I think that is also true.I have no problems with lady fisho's,or the tit books, but I don't think they go hand in hand.
    Just my thoughts though.
    Until next time...

I AGREE THAT IF A FISHING MAG HAS TO PUT BOOBS ON THE COVER OBVIOUSLY THE PRODUCERS OF THE MAG PROBABLY SPENT MORE TIME AT THE SHOOT INSTEAD OF MAKING SURE ITS A QUALITY READ. AS A WOMAN I'D HAVE TO SAY IT DOESN'T PHASE ME FOR OTHER SUPPOSED FEMALE ANGLERS TO FISH IN 'KINIS. IT JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE SO CRAP AT FISHING IF THEY WEAR A 'KINI THE GUYS WILL BE DISTRACTED AND LOSE A LOT OF FISH SO IN THE END SHE WILL LOOK AS IF SHE'S GOOD AT FISHING

    Hi All

For some reason I've resisted looking at this post until today. As BNB Fishing has been mentioned once or twice, and as I'm now almost in sight of "elder statesman" status, I'm prepared to share my editorial views on this topic.

BNB Fishing will never have a "gratuitous" pic of a partly-clad female on the cover. However, if a female catches a fish and happens to be wearing something skimpy at the time it could end up on the cover - if the fish and the pic are good enough.

Over the years we've published pics of females in bikinis and other perhaps "sensual" clothing as they hold their fish. I think that's fair enough, as the clothing was their personal choice - and not something they were urged into by an ageing desperado!

Despite what some of you might think, my cover pic policy is to go with the best relevant pic we have for the month. I particularly liked the golden being held by Randall in May, and the parrot on our June edition cover is a very good fish for the area in which it was caught. The fact that the man holding it will never win a beauty contest did not enter my mind as the fish stood out so nicely.

There you have it. In summary I'd say that my cover pic policy is pretty much the same as most of those who posted on this interesting topic. Again, the input is appreciated, even though it was not meant for me personally. Ron Collins, Ed.

There are a surpring number of talented "fairer sex" anglers out there wetting a line. Katie Capewell, Karen O'Rily, Alison Cork, Gail Fellmore, Jody Reberger, Leeann Payne, Helen Abdy and Dorothee Williams are amongst those coming to mind as being more than a match for most blokes. It's a bit unfortunate that they're overshadowed in the fish media by models holding moribund fish; swollen nipples and sunken eyes - and frequent shots of some woman child fronting work of questionable originality. I guess it gives the young pups something to lap up tho' - there panting, lipstick poking out.

C'mon you fellas thats Art!! where's your appreciation in fine Photography ??. Asked a mate who's keen photographer and must say was Profesional Photographer at that "How does one distinguish between Porn and art when Photographing a Sheila in the nuddy??".
He's reply was "If you photograph her straight out in the nuddy it can betaken as porn, but get her holdin a Rose for instance whilst in the nuddy and really emphasise on the Rose and thats ART ".
Mind ya could think of several places the Rose could be Lol and wander whether still would be classed as Art.
So there ya go , dont go knockin some of the artistic work one finds on the cover of magazines, some of those photographers went to a lot of uncomfort ta get you , the reader and consumer some artistic work and value for your dollar on those covers ey..
    Cheers
