..that this site existed. Have been checking various other boards for years but had no idea about this one. Was having a quite afternoon surf after Fathers Day lunch and discovered this by accident. Proceeded to go go through every page of general chat, fishing reports, saltwtaer chat, tackle and accesories, then threw in boat chat for dessert.

A bit strange to see you have just found us though. If you can tell me what search engine you use I will have a look into it.

If you do a search on "Australian Fishing" on any of the major search engines such as Google, Altavista, etc we are usually number one or two in the search results.

I actually stumbled onto the site during a search for topographical maps for the logan river bed - the search had a report from nugget mentioning the logan river & i followed the links only to discover a good mate was slyly using the site to get an early advantage in a fishing comp we have every year. I let him know I was watching & have been a member since cause it is a great site.

Could this topic be an interesting survey ? How did you find Ausfish?

I found it looking for fishing sites in au..seen a few of the others and the chat boards leave a bit to be desired..time they load..clickong on + signs etc..plus and the big plus is fishing reports are up to date..not a week behind and everyone tries to answer a question..

No, just kidding, I used to visit another popular site but found this one years back and prefered the relaxed, friendly atmosphere it offered.

You could count the number of antagonistic posts put up here on one hand opposed to the thousands on other sites.

Randall RUBBERMAN Gilbert told me about the site a couple of years ago now have met Steve a few times and that didn't turn me off, due to the great content luckily, also have made a few mates out of it a great site with plenty of great info from some of the best fisherpeople(notice my political correctness) in OZ.

I can't believe how well the site is conducted and the friendly way everyone responds to any kind of question, we all have to start fishing and boating somewhere.

I like the way everyone, regardless of how new you are to the sport/hobby/fetish/passion/obsession, can get any kind of advice they want and it is given freely and it is normally very good.

I also found the site by accident when I was looking for rod blanks thru the Google search engine and I'm real glad I did.
