Just surfed between rex hunt and ET..on ET we have a guy fly fishing and can hardly speak english trying to teach ET how to catch bone fish..dont think i can afford that trip..on Rex Hunt we are fishing of Noosa..mmm Rex catches a nice size Cod and it is released by the skipper by sticking a pick in the side and Rex admits he doesn't know how to do it..but it was all to quick. Still cant afford this trip either. However with fishing Rex won hands down over ET tonight in my opinion..But my Question is..Why do not these shows go where and with the average Jo Bloe, not a charter trip, where affordability is the name of the game..I really believe if they could lower themselves to go fishing with the average guy these shows would pull a bigger audience..my personal opinion. What do you think ...

Jaybee I think that these guys do quite often go with the average joe blow .
It would be only up to yourself to write to them and ask to take them at some stage I guess .
Yet however they will also have to go with the pro's as you might call it at times .
I do however beleive that these guys have sold their butts to the multinational manufacturers and resellers , such as XXXXXX .

yeah, i kinda agree with you. I mean on Rex hunt they have had numerous sportsman and hardly any average people. I reckon you should call them up and say that you want to be on his show

I have to agree with what you have said Jaybee and Jack I have lost Interest in these 2 show's .Why yesterday I could not pull my self away from the view of my wife's garden and my "Medicen" ( Bourbon & Diet Pepsi with Ice ) if you know what I mean.
These show have Lost the plot and me also,But It would be hard to keep on turning out a top show every week with the same old theam and team,need to get some new life in to it me thinks,And I agree with what you said Jaybee get some one like young Jack doing his thing on the river or some where would be refreashing aey

it is true that both of these guys do set a pretty high standard and it has always been my arguement that they should be a bit more realistic in some of their shows, until recently there was another show on Saturday mornings called Fishing wild Australia, that was a good show and they fished many areas that I have fished,might be worth a look if it comes back on t.v

This is only my opinion ( and that doesn't count for much around my place anyway).
These shows are here for the befefit of the " Joe Bloggs " fisho, ie:- the ones that don't go fishing. It is afterall an " entertainment " ( see Infomercial ) type of program. I don't believe that the boys are trying to teach us anything.
You may be suprized to know JB, that there is a shoot load of fellas out there who have no fishing gear, but, would jump at the chance to go fishing " where Rexie " goes. And these fellas have the dollars to do it Rex's way.
I figured if I sold the boat and the gear and everything else " fishy ", I'd have enough bucks to " do the Rexie " about 3 times a year for the next 5 years, then after that ??? ???
To be honest, if Rexie or ET or Creek to Coast is on as I pass by the tele, I'll sit and have a butchers. No to get info to do what they are doing, but just to entertained, and in the process of being entertained I know some of the stuff is BS, so be it, ( see Sylvester Stylone ).
If you can't stand these guys, go down the local video store and hire some Mal Florence movies, Harro stuff is Ok, and even Greg Normans trips. Better still, pop around to my place and see some home movies, Bring ya beers !

It semed to concentrate on areas where it seems most of us try to catch fish
