Why can't these fish be transported to other areas.

Or is it all just too expensive where as if you follow the NSW fisheries line at the moment they actually get a financial windfall.

In the long run don't they pay for the restocking to a degree in the future.

Seems a waste of a resource.

This is just straight out bullshit..... Ok the lakes are in danger of drying up so let's net the whole dam thing & let a few commercial fishers benefit on what was a public resource.
We pay enough money to fisheries & the govt via license fees, fuel excise an taxes etc.... Fisheries should spend some of this money relocating these fish, not selling them for profit to pro's. As it is our license funds pay for stockings of which mortality rates are extremely high in most situations & a large number of stocked fish do not see maturity. Perhaps relocating these mature fish would be much more beneficial than frequent stockings.

What do other forum goers think should the fish be "sold" to commercial fishers or should our license money pay to have them relocated in lieu of paying for some stockings?

I reckon we relocate them....your thoughts?

This is the biggest joke I've heard. Straight out profitering from a native resource.
I thought NSW Fisheries had their heads on straight - NOT A CHANCE.
I pose this question: When will the pro's be allowed into other freshwater lakes / lagoons to ply their mass death?? Is this just the trickle before the flood???
