Plastics
While I'm not about to start an argument or draw the flies, I wonder where anglers have been for the last 30 years. Its not as if plastics are something brand new, but it seems we are re-inventing the wheel. The Yanks have been into placcies in a big way since the last war, and I don't mean Afganistan either. Their cattledogs are full of the things, wigglies and wogglies. Have I missed something along the way.
I watched a guy load some display shelves the other day, all placcies, and all copies of 30 year old Yank grubs. Its much the same with leadheads, I watched a TV show where the prime character had obviously just discovered lead head jigs, man the promotion of the things.
Where have we been, strange things are happening. Cheers Max.

Max.
big wheels keep on turning...
like most "trends" thay keep turning up every 20 or so years, and like most trends you embrace them if thay work for you.
i have books here nearly as old as you, heeheeehe with softies in them.
Hell!! i was fishing with mister twisters 20 bloody years ago and catching fish on them.
ended up going back to an alvey and wadeing the flats,in stead of sticking to what was working for me anyhow.
Flats ! Flats ! Mmmmmm Flats !
