    black ooze in coral trout

    started filleting a coral trout last night, when a black ooze started comming out around the back of its head. it looked like sump oil but was water soluble. the flesh didnt smell bad at all. just curios if anyone knows what this is or if anyone has had the same thing?.

    mick I have had the same thing always just thought it was either blood or brain still tasted good

    Mick, its a cist or somethin akin to that they sometimes get on back of the noggin??. have come across it several times. i normally just hoik em away to be on the safe side ???.
    By the way where did ya get your Trout??, im still tryin ta make a date with the weather lol.
