Hi All

According to report in today's Courier Mail, the freshwater section of the recent RIS has been finalised, and some new regulations are in place from today.

The CM quotes the Minister, Henry Palaszczuk, under a somewhat misleading headline "Anglers force rules backflip". (I thought the RIS was a consultation document which sought community feedback on a range of possible proposals.)

I have not been able to confirm any of this via Fishweb or Cabinet news information. Currently I'm waiting for a phonecall from the Minister's office, but would be most surprised if the CM's report was wrong.

Based on what I've read in the CM, it's fair to say that most rec freshwater anglers will be happy with the outcomes. - Ron Collins, Ed.
