Hervey Bay Fishing Spots

I have a friend who is heading up to Hervey Bay this weekend for a week.

He asked if I knew any places to wet a line up there, and as I have never been up there before my answer was no. ???

If any of you fisho's could post a couple of suggestions it would be muchly appreciated.

Urangan pier is always popular for landbased, other than that if its inshore boat fishn, tell him to follow the local boats, lots of them

the " fishntales" site is the go for most info. If you want the land based stuff, the pier is good.

Also try rigging a live prawn on heavy gear and fishing around the trawlers in the boat harbour at night.

When he arrives, get him to go to the newsagent and grab the " Let's Go Fishing " mag for 2 bucks. Not a bad read, and has reports etc.

I might even see him there this weekend meself ??? 8) ???

See the bloke at Anglers Den by the pier. He's good value and knows what's happening around the place. If you're nice to him and buy a bit of gear he may give you a selection of his spots that he keeps on a bit of paper under the counter!
