I havent Fished the lower reaches for a fair while. I'm more of an upper Noosa River man myself.

Both lake are very shallow and my preference would be to overnoght in the river between the lakes. Given a decent breeze, the lakes rough up like you would'nt beleive.

If you can get that far, KinKin creek is not a bad place but watch for plentiful snags if you travell any distance into it.

The Noosa itself above KinKin is great with good bass fishing. Unfortunately, you can't use outboards past camp site 3.

Have a look at this site, it's got some usefull info.

    Grunta,

I was up there just before Christmas. We stayed on the river at Tewantin and there was plenty of herring along the shore. Berleyed them up with the remains of our sand crab lunches!

The sandies were caught out the front and upstream from the Tewantin ferry - in the region of that abondoned house boat on the northern side of the river - in about 5-6mts. Tried to catch muddies around the entrance to the first lake, but only jennies and undersize males.

Caught a few flathead on the sandbank drop-offs between Munna Point and the bar.

All up the river you can find liveies (herring, biddies, mullet etc) just off the shore. Yabbies are down closer to the mouth but with all the weed that was there on the hols i only got them off the southern tip of goat is.

Plenty of crabs on the edge of the main channel between tewantin and noosa ville.

    Hope this helps, Lachie

    Re: Noosa River

Does anyone know what the facilities are like at Boreen Point.

I'm thinking of doing a trip up to campsite 3 and beyong using my tinny. It can't be launched a Harry's Hut.

Are cars left overnight or for a few days at Boreen Point likely to get molested?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Noosa River

Mine has been ok there Luc, otherwise ring Elanda point camping ground (Terry May's Uncle) and see what it costs to leave your car there and launch across his beach.

Very shallow for a longgggggggg way off that beach, though.

Fished the river a lot one excellent place is the middle rock wall in the bay were the life savers tower is always caught fish thier goog size tailor, bream, trevally and the odd long tail early morning. A nother place is the rock wall near the car park at night pretty safe as you can see your car so you dont have to worry about it .Good for lizards their also better in a boat though. Now that i have one will be going down there a far bit. Crabs go under the bridge at harbour town to the lagoon not bad there either. Good luck.
