here is the pics of my mangrove jack i mentioned ....he is 70cm big and he is about 4 years old!!he is fresh water and he was bought at about 8cm. very lovely pet....

he is in a 6 x 2 x 2 tank at the moment lol well he preferes baits lol 1/2 bag prawns (large) and 1/3 bag pillies and also some white bait bloody pig. we were told that a jack at 60cm would cost anywhere from $300 - $500. he is total fresh water not salt!... at the moment there is about 2500 LPH of filtration but will be updating to about 3700 LPH but yeah if we get the right offer we will take it i spose so if anyone is interested start the bidding he would be great to throw lures at in a dam lol good luck if you get him in ha ha hah hahahaaaaa he is a very big fish .

Shano, do you need a permit to be selling the fish ??? The average jackie I catch is around 50-55cm, Ive got a spot where they are on tap from my old gold coast days, next time I am going to let some go I might do what your doing if its ok.

you need a licence to catch and sell marine fish but mine was bought up from young i got him at 9cm paid $90 for him he is total fresh water species as they start out like that how the barra do but he has never had the chance to get to salt lol ... he is 4 years old . most local aquariam shops who stock native species will have them!

A mate of mine has a big tank with barra in it, they are great fun to tease with hookless lures
