The North beckons
I know some of you already know, but the great North beckons me once more.
At the moment I'm planning to drive up to at least Cairns- roads permitting-Weipa. This trip is planned to take place long before the start of the Wet- I plan to be back on major roads (at least out of Weipa) by the beginning of the downpours.
At the moment I'm chillin out in the deep south of NSW (literally!) hardly catching anything at all- so for sanity's sake I'll have to go
I've been feverishly tying flies for all sorts of situations, organising my tackle and lures and organising work to pay for the trip. So far it's all falling into place.
I hope to also do Round III on Kingfisher Bay.
One problem- nobody wants to come! Either they hate the idea of the outdoors or aren't prepared to come along for some reason. I'm hoping to meet Dad somewhere up the coast. Knowing him, he'll be filming the whole thing! He's just made an underwater video camera housing tested to 1000ft+.
So if, or until I meet up with Dad it looks like a solo mission!
Now the real purpose of making this post:
Anyone got any tips or good spots to try on the way up? (At the moment I'm restricted to land)
Where can I catch decent Cherabins? (How far south do they go?)
