Victorian marine parks and sanctuaries imposed on the people based on scientific research, facts, evidence or whatever. The people might even wear that if they were to see the scientific stuff, so if decisions are based on scientific stuff, why can't it be produced, why can't the people who are apparently being imposed upon see this stuff for themselves, does it exist, apparently not.

Why are there certain reports that didn't support the zoning of the GBR reef not available, better still where is the scientific evidence that supports the deemed necessary zoning/lockup of the GBR.

You know journalists have absolutely nothing to do with rezoning the reef, but this claimed scientific evidence "claim" that #rolls of ministers announcements is that evident then where's the evidence to support these decisions, ever seen it #, Heard lots of excuses and claims but evidence, Not yet. #

Jockey, 2 possible answers, a simple NO or scientific mumbo why this evidence can't be conclusively upheld and really doesn't matter if it exists or not as this is what is going to happen, like it or not.

But like it or not, if that is the reasoning then they should at least come out and say it as it is and not mumble all this BS about scientific hoo-hah.

In some respects if the scientific community don't/can't/won't stand up and be counted then they either like being rorted or the ones doing the rorting.

Actually Jockey, you probably need to start at beginning and read the posts/responses again (slowly) and then ask youself the question where it was you got lost. What your waffling on about has absolutely nothing really to do with the subject, more like a little sh.. on your liver.

Bugman - I've never heard anyone accuse australia of having top quality news media, but I think most people undersdtand that the media is largely a product of the environment it works in - few customers, little competition, worsening media ownership laws and a bad case of libel chill that has killed of any real investigative journalism....

Gazza there are heaps of success stories with improvements to fishing as well as plenty of failures due to lack of action (ie not enough restrictions to fishing). I don't see why the greenies should claim ownership of any of them.

Kerry those quotes were just the tip of the iceberg. You said a lot more after that which I won't quote as it is a fair chunk of this thread. You've accused scientists and politicians (I'm not sure what of) but you haven't come up with a single example of what you are talking about. It's a pretty simple request Kerry. No need to get all uptight about it. I'm not asking for a thesis, but you shouldn't go making accusations like that on nothing. If you're not sure what I'm about go back to my first post and you'll see where my interest lies. I have posted in other threads but this is the one that got my attention because there must be something here I just can't seem to scratch the surface. How about you help me out? Don't get scared off just because I want to know more - nows a chance to air your grievances properly and I think this is the right place for it. Don't be shy.
