Re: G'day Folks
Thanks for all the input guys, I'd heard that it might have something to do with barometric pressure , and it seems that could be the case.And I was only on the computer in my lunch break. Honest!!!!

Re: G'day Folks
Around 1770 we may be catching heaps of pelagics from the rocks one day, then a northerly comes up and not a fish to be seen anywhere. This happens almost immediatly. Reef fishing may still take a few days to slow down. Could this be something to do with bait schools moving out on the start of a northerly?

Really dont find the wind direction has much of a bearing, unless its to windy to get out, never do to well when the boats in the garage.

Re: G'day Folks
Couple more questions if anyone could help;
1. Do pelagics have swim bladders (or substantial swim bladders)? I've only ever turned tailor or bonito inside out, and never noticed anything that resembled a substantial swim bladder.
2. Do all reef fish have substantial swim bladders?
3. What tide do reef fish (bottom dwellers) bite best on? Is there a general trend, or do different species fire on different tides?
Cheers,
Jeff

Re: G'day Folks
Most pelagics do, never seen a bigger one than a marlin has, no wonder they show up well on the sounder.
Around high tide is always good, if you miss the early bite mid morn they often fire.
