    Great Fishing Stories

If you're like me, I tend to read mostly the newspaper, Bush n Beach and QFM, and of course this website! It takes a good book to get me to sit down and read page after page. However, I have come across a book, that I simply cannot put down. It is called "Great Australian Fishing Stories" and it is written by Paul B. Kidd. Has anyone read this??

Paul B.Kidd is a Sydney based author, photo-journalist, magazine editor, Radio 2UE talk-back broadcaster and freelance 60 minutes researching producer who specialises in true crime, fishing, humour and adventure.
Paul's articles, interviews and photographs have appeared in most Australian major outdoors and men's publications in numerous magazines and websites worldwide.
Pail B.Kidd is the past editor of 'Fishing News', 'The Shimano Yearbook', 'The Tackle Trader' and 'Rex Hunt's Fishing Australia Monthly' and is a recognised authority on Australia's waterways and the creatures that inhabit them. He is also an authority on Australian serial killers and criminals who have been sentenced to life imprisonment, never to be released.

The book is made up of short stories, about 4-5 pages each with photographs included, so you are constantly onto a new "chapter". There are over 40 stories to read. Learn of marlin with beaks like baseball bats and eyes the size of bread and butter plates, and of crazed mako sharks that are shot at by gangsters. Also read about/marvel at fishing cheats who've devised outrageous schemes to win fishing competitions, and a huge shark that vomited up a human arm. The list goes on! It is excellent reading, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to hear a good fishing yarn - some of them hard to believe. The book is paperback, under $20 and can be bought from K-Mart, Target, Big W and Angus Robertson. It is made by ABC books and was published in November 2003.

Hope you raise an eyebrow reading it - I did.

    Cheers,
    Hutcho.

I wish! Reading it back, it sounds like a bit of a sell job i guess, but I just wanted to let the members of this site know about what i thought was a pretty good read. Didn't mean for it to sound like a sell job guys!

    Cheers.
