    Re: baitfish

Two very different fish. Slimys you will find outside of the seaway, on the close bait reefs.

They are a longish fish with a blue black.

Herring are silver & you will pick them up from just about any bridge in the broadwater. Sundale bridge would be a good start.

i went to the coast on the weekend. got a few herring with a cast net but my ability to throw the bloody thing stopped me from getting many. where abouts can i get hold of those slimies. i seen a few dlokes in a big 30 footer come back in and caught nice fish using what looked like slimies. i will put a post in reports

    Re: baitfish

best bet for ether the slimies or herring is to use bait jigs
the slimies can be found at most of the closer reefs with 20- meters on it
look for dense coloms of fish on nice broken reef

    Sorry Guys,

Neither picture are mine actually. Just sourced them off the web.

    Anyfish,

You will slimys out on the baitreefs, in about 12 fathoms approx 1km SE from the Seaway.
