i thought they all got kissed and sent back!?
He certainly did, not sure if he still does? haven't heard that he still doesn't and where do you think fish shops get their fish from commercial fisherman of course
Cheers, Kerry.
Rex Hunt's D'lish Fish is situated on Port Phillip Bay adjacent to historic Station Pier.
Have a look at his website for more details. rexhunt.com.au
You might want to grab a copy of his book while you are there "Rex - My Life" well worth a read.
my wife and i once ate at delish fish next to station pier.
it was crap.
we waited 30+ min for the feed. the staff had the radio blairing. i don't just mean loud but soooo loud that the staff couldn't hear our order and we couldn't hear their questions. to make it even worse, they changed the channel every 3-4 min (two staff were having a disagreement about he stations).
the food was no better than the local takeway and we had to eat it on our laps (no tables or very few provided, can't quite remember).
it is a lovely location to get a feed but we resolved to never go there again and haven't.
ps had a look at his web site but my pc got clogged due to pop up ads selling a "rex hunt credit card" lol
Haha nice one rex. Whats next rex's home loans.Originally Posted by redfoot

The credit card proposal is to raise money for the Future Fish Foundation. As stated on the website/popup
"This card would provide fishing and outdoor enthusiastics and the wider community the opportunity to obtain a financially competitive credit card with personal rewards, that also contributes an income stream to the FutureFish Foundation and at no cost to you."
dont get me wrong I am not a big fan of rexy but I do agree with most of the thing he has to say he always has said take a feed and possibly he has done more for fishing in the last few years than anyone else
tall poppy?
no just the pop ups
i just dont understand how he can knock pros in one breath& then turn around & sell fish
ps i reckon what rex has done to educate kids & the general public is great
and again i tried to close the pop up and it kept opening more
but as im coming to realise everone has to make a buck at the end of the day
Redfoot ,not following , what you are on about??
Are you saying Rex's business should buy illegal seafood from REcs/Pros ,or that "Fish 'n Chips shops" should be shutdown?? ,or what ,i'm just not following the point/issue you are referring to.....
you do understand ,Rex/son can't Fish recreationally ,and sell them ,don't you...
???
p.s. stop whinging about pop-ups for a good cause ??
download this , and control , any site you want to??

Rex who?
Is that the ex footballer who does a fishing show on TV and radio and made about $11 mill one year from it all...with that kind of money why ask for donations to something..just do it yourself.
Personally, I cannot stand his show (but i cannot tolerate any lifestyle shows)...but good luck to him.
gaz,im not saying that rex should by any black fish,i just want to know why he(& others)continually gives pros a hard time but then turns around and makes a profit from their product
maybe they only use aquaculture product or maybe he only buys fish that have been kissed and released
thanks for the tip on the toolbar
a good cause might be encouraging kids to get involved with fishing
but getting them involved with credit mightnt be so moral
but who am i to judge someones right to earn a pay?
I think you will find that Rex is all for sustainable fishing. From what I have seen, the Pro's he is usually having a go at are the ones that target the rivers and streams that cannot sustain the amount of Pro activity that is in them at the present time.
Sure he's a bit of a goose but the world would be a pretty boring place if everyone toed the 'conventional' line. What he has done for fishing has been tremendous and if he has made a buck along the way, good on him, that's what you go into business for.
