min kota problem
need some help with my min kota riptide 55 saltwater i think it needs to to be re-calibreated does anyone know the procedure the problem i have is that when the pedal is pushed either left or right it only turns in the one direction or not at all it does have auto/pilot and i have checked all wires and connections and all seem to be fine i have also tried another foot pedal and it did the same

sounds like the plug in your foot pedal has rusted out, its pretty common for the minn kota plugs to deteriate... cost about $110 for a new one from a Minn kota Stockist.. they either dont work at all or dont turn at all.. or only turn a little bit.. and its usually always the plug

It will be one of two things causing your problem. As Zeeke mentioned the foot pedal is faulty, either the connectiones are corroded or the circuit board in the pedal is stuffed.
If it is not the foot pedal, the circuit board in the main unit is faulty. My 55Ap is currently at BLA for the fourth time . All riptide 55's should still be under warranty so the best thing to do is send it back for repairs.
