PRESS RELEASE
For immediate media attention
The Fishing Party to form a branch in Victoria
The Fishing Party, a Federal and NSW registered political party has today announced the appointment of Mr Kraig Dixon as the party advocate and co-ordinator of the formation of the Victorian branch.
Mr Dixon’s portfolio will be to encourage the Victorian community to back this political party which is determined to be a voice in politics for the everyday Australian whose rights and liberties and amenities are being eroded away. Mr Dixon’s official title will be ‘ Mr Kraig Dixon, Advocate and Co-ordinator for The Fishing Party (Victoria) and can be contacted at > kbdixon@bigpond.com
Robert Smith, the federal party chairman, stated that although the primary interest of this party is associated with the fishing community and the management of our most environmental sensitive resource the issues that affect all Australians are just as important. Our initial policies and statements reflect this and with community support and member input this party believes it will have sensible alternatives for the fishing community and all outdoor recreational constituents.
Initially formed in NSW, The Fishing Party has just recently created a sub branch in Queensland, where tremendous support is emerging and it finally looks like the sleeping giant might be stirring. Interest is also coming from the other states as we speak.
The party is asking the Victorian fishing and general community to get behind Kraig with this project and although he will only be an organising voice at this stage, leaders are being sought that can take this party forward.
Our motto I FISH I VOTE will finally be recognised and as our slogan states “ it’s more than just fishin” will mean exactly that.
