Not, sure, bbut numbers are down due to all manner of reasons.

Not too long ago, the numbers were around the 1700 I believe. That's from the memory bank, which seems to fail me a tad these days.

Wouldn't be suprized if the numbers were around the 1,000.

i heard the number might be up due to the amount of prize money... out of the entrants are they mostly beach fishermen or offshore or bit of both??? is it really crowded?

Last year was a filled with lots of ifs, buts and maybes so the final number was around 1000 as Phill said, definately under 1100.

This year should be back to normal 1200 -1400 avg with the certainty of where and when the event will be and 12 months to convince the ministers of war and finance that a weeks break away from each other can only be a good thing.

I hate crowds but find it acceptable and a good atmosphere. For best seating position get up to the pub before 6-30pm

Theres a mix of beach, bay and offshore boys fishing, for some of the current reprobates expected to be there take a look at

nothing like moreton bay on a wk end, if crowds arent your thing you just go east untill they disappear. the grounds are from caloundra to tweed, im sure you can find a quiet spot somewhere

    Re: Straddy Classic questions...

I guess you better monitor fuel prices for the weeks preceding the event and draw your own conclusions with some economic hypothesising.
