    Brisbane riverfire DOH!

I can't beleive I missed out on a pass to the Riverfire. They were all gone in the first hour or so and I wasn't able to get there until after lunch.

We'd already made plans and had invited people so if anyone got one and eventually can't use it - please let me know.

    Brett 0433 109 425.

I can't beleive they processed 380 people that quickly.

You had to be there in the queue at 5am Brett to have any chance. The addition of them being free of charge this year also made is simpler for some.

I got there at 7 am and was about 40th in line. Another bloke from work who I didn't even know had a boat got there at 8 am and got his at about number 150. I don't think anyone who got there after 9 am got a flag.

    Fireworks on the Brisbane River.
We had a heap of fun a couple of years back on Australia Day when the shrapnel of the fireworks landed in the boat (we're talking coconut size!) - ash in our eyes, we were lucky the canopy of the boat was up to protect us a bit. It was great to be close to the action but not THAT close!

Maybe next year a bunch of us Ausfishers should form a party and go in early.

YEeARH Ben! I got a flag! I got there at about 8.20! fully thought no one would be there ay! it sounds like a good idea to get a group of us next year! dont have much in the way of comfort in my boat so i think ill probably just rob all the beds in the house and fill my tinnie up with blankets and pillows!
