    Re: Old Fuel

Does fuel age as a matter of course, or does it just age when it is mixed with oil?

    Re: Old Fuel

fuel ages with or without oil
thwe older the fuel the lower the octane which means that the motor would ping and carry on

    Re: Old Fuel

i saw this problem in a magazine a while back. from memory one suggestion was to put it in a tub in the back yard and let it evaporate.

If you have one near you, contact an oil refinery, they may take it off your hands.

They usually have a slops tank for old fuel & oils. the contents are re-refined.

Oil and Fuel Salvaging Qld Ph(07)38681121 we use them quiet regualarly when operators fill diesel tanks with large quantities of unleaded fuel don't know and exact cost but worth a try if you want to get rid of it otherwise it's a good degreaser for parts washing(may attack some plastics) good luck
