on the first thursday of each month doug burt dose fishing talks at the southport coast guard rooms upstairs
i went last week where he talked about flathead fishing with soft plastics
was a very informative night and for $5 entry good value too
you go into a draw for some prizes on the night 1st prize a fishing trip with doug 2nd prize was a shimano baitcaster reel
3rd prize was around 6 packets of soft plastics he used during his talk as normal i won nothing
the coast gaurd have the bar open with drinks at reasonable prices and they ofer half price membership to the coast gaurd services $25 for 12 months assittance
all in all a good way the gather information

next month is more detailed fishing for flathead with lures
