Townsville Boat show - WOW!!

Spent a couple of hours wandering around the boat show this morning. HOLY HELL! Some VERY nice rigs there! Was really surprised at the selection of boats, only ever been to the Cairns boat show (doesn't come close!).

Highlight for me I think was wondering around the 30ft Kevlacat. WHAT A BEAST! $160,000 to $200,000 will get you sitting at the helm of this beauty! hmmm, now if i could save $20 a week, how long till i could get one?

Makes me want to put my head down, bum up and study, study, study!

O well, can't hurt dreaming can it?

I wonder if they would give a discount if we bought about 20 of them???

Sorry to rain on your parade Dr Dan, But I have to that the boat show was a bit of a dud. Must say I did pick up a bargin on a boat wash pump. Hey must ask, did you join the fishing party while you were there? $22 could be your most important investment in fishing you could ever make.

I went to the Brisbane Boat Show and I think they are getting worse every year.But i did find a couple of good Navman products at the show.

I'd happily have both in my boat any day. Nice heads up Ron. Just for everyones info we handed out over 1000 membership applications at the boatshow to people who actually came up and asked for them! We are the fastest growing political party in the country, and for good reason. No one else is listening to the 800,000 queenslanders who like to go fishing! Members give us both the funds and credibility to take the fight up to governments, and we have certainly got their attention at present......maintain the rage guys. I Fish & I Vote is now more than just a bumper sticker.

Nah Ron, Didn't see anything about the fishing party ??? Spent most of the time outside looking over the boats. Any info on joining?
Hmmmmmm, don't know if there is enough room to mount those new navmans on the dash of my boat!!

Tsv boat show wasn't too bad. I came away with a new reel. Only allowed myself 1.5 hrs - probably enough. Loved those Cyclone boats - didn't love the price.

I'm not too happy about having to pay $12 entry fee on an event where exhibitors are paying thousands of dollars to the event organisers to display their products and SELL them.

Thought it was a bit rich for what was on offer - no real 'display boats', etc to drool over.

It was no Sydney boat show but a lot better than I expected. The kids loved the large fishing tank. Bought a couple of lures for them from Lures (thanks Gary). Had an early dinner at Benny's Hot Wok (close to the best feed in Townsville but this isn't saying much) then home to watch a couple of great games of footy. Everyone happy.
