    Power trim/tilt

I have a mercury 50 hp 4-stroke and was just reading the manual, it said to use quicksilver power trim tilt fluid or auto transmission fluid if the first is not available, Is the auto fluid just as good because I would imagine it would be a fair bit cheaper. Thanks Sean

    Sean,
Would not be a drama short term to mix them, say for temporary repairs to a leaking unit, but generally not advised for long term. Same deal for engine or gearbox oil. Stick to one brand/type IMO.
    ROLL TIDE, ROLL.................

IMO you will find the oil specs to be the same and probable just put in a diferent bottle. When you change at a sevice use the brand of oil that you feel comfortable with and stick with it
    cheers
