Thread: TWO - STROKE oil ... buy ?

Re: TWO - STROKE oil ... buy ?

I have a MERC. I use Quicksilver oil at present - can I use other brands? is it advisable?

I have a friend who is in the management team of one of our regional Caltex distributors (his uncle owns it). Would it be worth me approaching him regarding a Caltex brand?

    COOKY
i cannt see any different in the oil as long as the specs are the same and most are.

i have used caltex for the past year and the motors are still running.
i have used the brand that costs the less
the motors are 10 years old and never had a service....

I bet he has changed the plugs a few times.
There is a lot less to worry about on an older style two stroke.
