I m getting ready to be in the market for a bigger boat & yeah i dont know to go plate or fiberglass. Plate have more fishing room & probably a bit more durable. Fiberglass dont bang as much. But yeah i have seen that mag i think is that the one with warren steptoe's old cairns custom cat?

    hi fellas,
I've had my plate boat now for just on 12 months and she's the best. The boat is a 5mtr Fisher with a 90 hp 4-stroke pushing her along. If you want to see the Fisher range and can get to Bribie Island on the 13 of November Col Svensson and his team from Fisher boats are having an open day at Sylvan beach esplanade opposite the Bribie hotel they ask blokes like me to bring our boats that they built along so that people can go for a test ride,so all sizes and configerations should be there heres a picture of my boat

    Reef05,
Great rig there mate. I was fortunate enough to go out on my mates 640 fisher the other week and it is by far the best plate boat that I have been on.
If any one is looking to get a plate boat have a look at the Fisher range. Having a 20ft glass boat I would seriously look at changing.

    Cheers

Im in the market for a plate up north here i wouldent have anything but a plate. Fiberglass is to risky. Nasty stuff that reef if you mistakingly come in to contact with. The added toughness of plate will do me and my fammily just fine.PS there are some nice boats @boatlocater.com 8)

kiwi's make a beauty of platey called a laser craft have a look at one of those, althought the lay out isnt the greatest, the entry point is but far the best i've ever seen in plate ally.
the price is reflective of the start of the platey boom here(very good value).
