Couple of things. Files missing off my copy of win 98 so I borrowed one, and I was forgetting that it was partitioned so the cd rom drive wasn't d drive.Originally Posted by Sportfish_5

So can I assume that you were just able to reboot off the CD with the Win98 disk in the drive and it "self" repaired, or did you need to run a repair or a reinstall?
No, it wouldn't boot off the disk.....it was a copy and when I ran it on mine to check it, it had 4 files missing (probably a scratch as the little buggers had got into my cd's as well).Originally Posted by Burley_Boy
A neighbour called in and spent about an hour buggering about in msdos mode. He told me the prob but it went right over my head as it's bedlam here atm. It's working now but seems to be operating a lot slower. It's on defrag atm so I'll see if that speeds it up.
