What really annoys you?

Fishing is susposed to be a relaxing past time, a chance to get away relax and enjoy yourself, but sometimes events occur that really annoy you.Today we where fishing on the "edge" of the shipping channel only to have a passing ship yell abuse at us, for starters he passed on the wrong side of the beacon and secondly if hed been any closer hed been at risk of hitting the beacon. Of course we yelled back and soluted in the good old aussie way! [smiley=furious.gif] [smiley=furious2.gif]
On another accation id spent the better part of an hour burleying up some quality snapper in the middle of nowhere and had them taking baits right at the back of the boat, then from nowhere 2 old fellas arrived in a old inboard v8 petrol boat and proceded to reverse up to the back of my boat and place there lines in amoung my lines,not only did they nearly run into our transome and spook the fish off, they tangled our lines and it seemed no mater how loud we yelled over the grumble of there engine they just ignored us! Needless to say a few well placed sinkers had them on there way! Im sure many fishos have had some interesting incidents, it should be interesting to hear a few...foxy

So many incidents akin to yours lol tht now i just up anchor and move off for fear of gettin upset and heading off back home lol....
Years back i used ta get annoyed and did the sinker routine lol but moved past that now....
Worst was anchoring over a favourite wreck, hard bottom with only a plow anchor that would grab and hold..
halfe a dozen yobbo's with wrong anchor at the end of their rope n chain with no hope of grabbing and guess what would happen when their anchors run over n past your anchor rope lol...
Specially halfeway through a good hookup session...

Sometimes it just feel like your hook stabs you more then anything else, lines seem to tangle at every possible chance, you left your lunch at home, the anchor won't hook up, you lose a good fish, you stand on your best rod snapping the end, the wind continues to blow salt water into your eyes, the cast net gets ripped up, you finaly land a fish and it slips under the floor boards and you knock your tackle boz over spilling lures, hooks, sinkers and swivels all over the boat.

know what you mean about the ships foxy, the buggers are starting to cut the corners mire and more, which makes it interesting to say the least when fishing the edge of the shipping channel, wish they would stick to the highway

I had a similar experience once burlying up the snapper outside & this charter boat was over to the side of us & we seemed to be doing better so they upped anchor & sat right in our trail & all it did was scare the F#@k out of everything. since when was fishing relaxing ?

over the weekend I spooled up my reel with 300yd of brand new fireline, only to misjudge how low the overhead tree was hanging.

needless to say the birds nest it created when I hooked the tree overhead was probably the worst I've ever had (and will hopefully ever have). It was close to forcing me to cut the entire bloody thing off .. but I persisted (im a tight arse when it comes to $$&#36. 45 minutes later I was ready to go ...

all the while the girly laughing her arse off (i was teaching her how to cast a baitcaster at the time as well). .....

I hate fishing.

What really annoys me is idiots zooming past in their big flash boats within 5-10 meters of me sitting quietly with a couple of lines out. Honestly if they get any closer they would be sitting on top of me, but without a wink of an eyelid, they just zoom close and are not bothered one bit if they almost tip you out. Geez I hate that.

one other thing gets my goat up as well. people trolling a bait behind them accross a main travel area. On Saturday we were going home and was following a couple of other boats through a normal run area, where no other boats bother to anchor up cos they realize its too busy to fish, yet this bloke is trolling a couple of lines out the back and approaches me on my right. I slow and give him right of way and turn in around him and start to contiue when they all started to abuse me. I stopped only to see the 2 rods laid out trolling. I couldnt believe it and shook my head and got going. I just dont get these idiots.

There is other things but those 2 really get my ire up.

les i have had that happen to me before to where they troll in the middle of nowhere and you don't see their lines 100m out behind them untill the last minute
but all in all fishing is relaxing down here at Port Macquarie not that many boats around that we all seem to be on top of each other

Go Dug Im with you man. I hate fishing all morning and not getting a single bite. Then you grab the speargun jump over board and there are 6 coral trout under the bloody boat. For those of you who dont dive I am telling you this is very common and it gives me the shits. So I kill a few and have the last laugh which is always a good remedy.
