How do you anchor to fish wrecks
Hi everyone, this is a question for those that regularly fish wrecks for the usual reef fish. How do you anchor to fish the wreck. Do you anchor directly on it with a reef pick, or do you anchor of the wreck on sand with a general purpose anchor and rely on the current/wind to position you in the best position to get your baits on the wreck. How do you do it. Cheers

I anchor on sand with a sand anchor and drift back onto wreck. Makes for easier retrieval.

Deep wrecks I anchor up current with a sand anchor. Shallow wrecks I might put in on the wreck with a reef anchor, especially if I am familiar with the structure. Morlers is right though, the easiet possible way to retrieve the anchor must be concidered.

Anchor on the sand mate, I've lost a few anchors by dropping the pick toooo close.
When we have a lot of run, we find by attaching another length of chain and a sand anchor behind the reef pick, she'll hold in nearly any current.
