Trawlers vs Fish Farming

Should the government be buying trawling licences so the professional fisherman can set up fish farms. Just an idea that I had so go easy on me.

Actually a very good question. Given the growing demand for seafood, which is the lesser of 2 evils? It will be an interesting poll.

The highly aclaimed Daid Attenbough documentary series " Blue Planet"" calls prawn trawlling "The most destructive method of fishing ever devised by man".........there are also many case studies of the impacts of fish farms on the ecology and wild fish stocks!!

Maybe the answer is just reducing demand for seafood........that would be pretty simple....NOT!!
