    Ausfish M&G?

Throwing the spanner in the works, see what everyones opinions are, been a lil while (not long, but long enough) to start organising another M&G, this time a freshy since i think the last 2 or 3 have been salt M&G's.. and area i think might be worthwhile trying is Borumba.. dont know what you guys and girls think thats why we have this ere discussion..

but Borumba is a worthwhile Spot, its just outside Imbil, north of noosa and south of gympie, takes from 2hrs to 3hrs for most to get there unlike the last freshwater M&G at Bjelke Peterson Dam, good bbq facilities at the ramp, easy access but still it is a dam so the ramp can be steep for some cars.. large camping grounds, large covered areas, the camping grounds are about 500 meters away from the ramp with toilet/shower block aswell as a toilet block at the ramp, most commonly targetted species are bass and saratoga which are fairly common and theres a large ski area there for familys or you can take the kids to the deer park which also has cabins you can rent out

Anyways, throw your ideas in, thats mine

    Hi Tim,

I have never fished Borumba (been there for a picnic, lovely spot), the only fresh water fishing I have done is in Awoonga and I caught sweet F.A.

In other words... I'll be interested. I will take my boat** but hopefully if there are a few others, I will get a ride with someone who knows what they are doing.

**Can someone point me to the regulations when fishing Borumba.

Im not to fussed on where you have it, the last 3 M&Gs it has blown its nuts out so its more a matter of a place out of the wind to have a few drinks

Tim sounds good to me......been there years ago and found the area very interesting.
When are you thinking about going up there?
Its not long now until winter sets in.

    Re: Ausfish M&G?

Mick, Borumba is on the SIP Plan so anyone fishing will need a 3 day permit atleast.. cost about $5 from your local tackleshop

Brent, dont know when the plan will go ahead, im just throwing in a suggestion that we should have one soon, dont know about dates, but someone must have an idea of what should be a good weekend for it? gotta be one or 2 coming up soon

Is it too late to begin talking in code so the fish dont see us coming this time?

Even though it's heading towards the wrong time of the year .... where's themost southern impoundment to catch Barra. Is there some south of Awonga?

As long as I dont have to drive 5 hours again I will be happy...

But then again Awoonga sounds good... At lest I have lots of local knoweldge there.

For some time now I've been advocating a beach fishing M&G.
    Winter is the ideal time.

A big camp over on main beach Straddie would be a great long weekend.
