I got there about 8.00am and got permit number 237 (out of 340). About same crowds as last year.

Heard some poor bloke drove down from Toowoomba and arrived about 9.00am and missed out. Wouldn't have been too pleased about that.

    James,

Suncorp Riverfire is part to the Brisbane River festival and is on September 3rd this year. If you intended to take your boat up the Brisbane River to watch event (fireworks and F111 dump and burn) then you needed to line up this morning at Southbank for a permit and a flag.

Only 340 are being issued. The river is closed from Newfarm to West End during this event and the water police will refuse entry and mooring to any boats not flying the special flag.

Not very widely publicised but they still got more than 340 takers before opening time anyway.

    Chris.
