Interesting to note that the price of unleaded fuel in Great Britain at the moment is around the AU $2.20 / litre.
United Kingdom
Unleaded pence/ltr 96.5
Diesel pence/ltr 94.8
There is plenty of room for the oil companies to move so that the Australian consumer feels a whole heap more hurt.
No wonder the sales of the new dual energy cars like the Prius and scooters are through the roof.

Hey Mikos
This might help answer your question re 'How does the price of the fuel in there tanks in which they had already puchased increase in price???'

There is a simple explanation for this.
This is done to avoid following situation.
Two gas stations A and B.
A gets his gas on Mondays, B on Fridays.
On Monday A got his gas to sell at 1.10 and started selling at this price.
On Friday B got his gas to sell at 1.50 and started.... looking through the window because everybody went to A to buy cheaper gas.
Big que in front of A, pumping like crazy and by Thursday ge runs out of gas to sell and has to wait till Monday, now he is looking through the window.
This is done to stabilize demand at various stations and to avoid such wild swings.
Trust that explains it.
