agree with kiktz, shoot em and let god sort em out, i dont know about the live skinning but i know for a fact in Korea they hang them up by the neck and let them flop around a bit before putting them out of their misery, they claim the meat tastes better if the animal is aggrivated before its killed, some fluid that is released like adrenalin or something is the reason, maybe if ur starving but if not leave the dogs alone i reckon. I remember in the last world cup(soccer) in korea and japan the Spanish team adopted a dog from the slaughterhouse and made it the team mascot before it was eaten...its an interesting world we live in

    Well,

Here in China dogs, cats, snakes, bullfrogs and a lot of other things are on the menu list.

    Snake wine.
Everywhere, sometimes with added flavours of scorpions, lizards, bull or deer ##### as well. It is just that this stuff is made with chinese white liquor and as such undrinkable.

We have actually discussed this idea somewhere here a while ago

Imagine working on a ship carrying a full load of live cane toads.

Saw a show on TV about gourmet cooking in China. They were at some 5 star restuarant. Took a live fish out of the tank - straight into the wok for about 30 seconds either side then onto the plate. Poor bloody thing was gasping for breath on the plate as the commenced eating it. A delicacy apparently

    Gunna,

I must admit that in my 10+ years here the only fish with guts cooking I have seen was with some small minnow type ones dumped into a soup.
A bit not on my side of edible.

All the big fish are gutted.

But the truth is that especially in the south they take care that the food is as fresh as possible.

On a second thought if you would include prawns in the broad "fish category" the "Drunken Prawns" would classify as eating "live" food.

They wash them clean, place in a glass bowl with a very heavy lid (when drunk they do jump really hard), than pour a good sized glass of vodka, quickly cover the bowl, hold the lid tight, wait unitl jumping inside ceased and serve.

Eaten with fingers, break the head off, peel the shell, dip in soy and wasabi like sashimi.
    It is actually really good.

Not being smart here but whats wrong with other countries eating food that you yourself consider aweful?

Anyone here eaten pig lately? pork chop maybe? bit of bacon with eggs for breakfast?

Other cultures consider pigs to be filthy and disgusting to eat. Plenty of people here in Australia also believe this.

Why is it ok to eat a baby cow but not a dog?

Before I get labelled all things including Hippy, vego or greenie tosser I love nothing better than to hoe into a huge steak or half a pig on toast with eggs.

Didn't take very long did it? Lions and Tigers are the most useful of all obviously, although Ocelots are my favorites.
