    Reef fin fish closure tomorrow

    Just a quick reminder in case some have forgotton that the closure commences again tomorrow for coral reef fin fish. No catch until December 3.

    The closure only applies to waters north of about Bundaberg if my information is correct...

    "East of Cape York between 10°41’ South and 24°50' South"

    Won't help me though, can't get out fishing this weekend

    Don't forget that Spanish Mackerel are no take during the closure as well. >

    Are you sure about the Spanish Mackeral being off-limits? That's not my understanding of it. Tuna, Mackeral and other pelagics are ok I thought. Where did you get that info?

    The closure only applies to Coral reef fin fish. Mackeral aren't included. If you do catch a spanish mackeral you have to cut off one of it's pectoral fins, just like coral reef fin fish.

    Yeah sorry, i always get confused because of the similarities with CRFF and the pectorial fin removal.
