DOh photo
a member sent this photo on Friday. It's a water spout in Gladstone Harbour, the photo was taken at 10.15am. Did any of the local guys see or here anything about it.
Wayne
I didn't see it Wayne, but apparently it only lasted for a short time, 10 mins or so. The local paper showed about 4 varying photos from different locals who managed to photograph it from different locations. Quite a sight to see. They are wild up close, some get quite large across the bases and are just a mass of white water and horizontal spray if you get too close. Some friends tried to film one a while back in a dinghy, and they couldn't even get close, too dangerous!! They vary in sizes mostly, but they are pretty spectacular and awesome to say the least!

NICE
i love tornadoes/water spouts. #
thats an great photo. that is a small one probably around the F0 size. in brisbane there was 1 report tornado and a 2nd funnel that didn't reach the ground. out from noosa 1 day we saw a water spout forming got about 1/3 the way to the ground and that was that.
Bring on the Marlin!!!
There were 2 spouts the same day off Southport a few months ago. They were both classed as 'non desructive' spouts, whatever that means. One guy rode his jetski right thru the middle of it, and the other spout wandered up on the beach and stalked a beachwalker who had his back to it.
Channel 9 filmed the whole thing.
cheers

I guess if Corry would have seen that, he would have done one of two things:
(a) Have another rum
(b) Give up rum

GO THE CRUISER UTES!
....OH WHAT A FEELING!
If only it could be used selectively like the pro fisher nets. We could program it for grinners and let it loose.
Good pic of the spout Streaker
