Shane pa hasn't left you mate, he will be there beside you to watch you land every fish. You won't see him, but he will be there and you'll feel it mate. Don't grieve, instead remember the time spent with him and the joy you brought each other. Don't forget he is looking over you and would probably be very annoyed if you weren't happy. Be proud and be happy.
never ceases to amaze me the passion shown by ausfishers to their peers, not only for fishing but when one has a tragic event in there lives.
The pain of one is shared by many
Hope the pain eases with time Basserman, the memories wont deminish though.

Shane,
I hope you get the same feeling of presence that i get when i am driving up and down the highways. As i have said in the past my dad passed away a couple of years ago and i have this feeling of presence in my truck with my and i believe it to be dad.
When you are fishing i hope you get this same feeling knowing it is pop because it make you feel good and knowing that you carnt see him he is still there with you.
My heart goes out to you.
Kindest regards
Graeme
