Walk to Mud, then catch a lift back to the airport with the mozzies

Not a good thing they want to do... Luc is right. They'll cut out any fishing around the area!

I went out for a drive to fishermans island last week to sus out any land based spots. As most of you know unfortunately, 99 percent of it is no go zone. And the places you can fish is within a certain zone and each side has huge barb wire fences and nasty warnings on them. I'ts dissapointing to say the least. How bout a wharf/jetty near/close to the front of the river for brisbanes many land based rec fisherman.

Interesting pictures Brian. My last post here was fishing the Nerang River years ago, but in this one i will say That Soverign and hope Island areas down the goldie were the same some years back. They were undeveloped mangrove havens.(Excellent fishing too).

What i found amazing about it all is, they can develop something we wouldn't be allowed to build on and destroy fish breeding ground in these times, knowing full well what the impact is going to be in the future.

But not only that, but they can also put it under lock and key after all of the years it has been available to anglers.

Bloody hate to think the amount of arguements i had with security at Soverign Island.

The Long Arm of The River

Though this might interest a few, if you havent seen it all from the air.
The dredging of the river along the new wall is commencing,
    1. hopefully when its finished it might calm the brissy bar down a little
    2. there will be deep water when finished right along the new wall
    3. plus a fair few beacon changes will take effect.
    4. by the year 2010, you wont need a boat to get to Mud, you'll be able to walk or drive, if their future plans get all the eco go aheads.
    regards

And once it's all finished, out of bounds to fishos cause someone might want to do naughty things to the boats, wharves etc...

    Good pics Brian.

That dark green area at the bottom of the pic; do they build a wall around it and then drain and fill it?

    G'day
It absolutly blows my mind to see whats possible these days. Then again. all you have to do is think big and dream bigger. Having some land put aside for rec. fishos would be good but they'd see it as a security threat i'd imagine. Kinda reminds me of the airport they constructed in i think japan where all they had was a seabed......... now an international airport.
