tackle insurance

am packing up my fishing gear at the monent in ireland and moving back to brisbane, with sage and g-loomis jumping out at me in all but 2 of my 5 fly rods and 6 assorted rods and matching reels i just stopped counting at 5000 euro worth ($7500) and having to run the gauntlet through theifrow (heathrow) airport im in desperate need of advice, i should have stuck to drinking and scrapping in the pubs i think, can anyone offer any serrious advice friom either experience or knowledge, cheers in advance...

try contacting lloyds for a quote, they're international and will usually do insurance of all specialised items

Also PM Wessel and ask what he did when he moved to Qatar ?

I tried to insure my tackle once but the company said it was too small.

Every stick of furniture I own including the dog isn't worth $7500, how'd you get away with buying that much tackle without the missus firing a volley or two across your bow? You're a legend mate.
I get excited just looking at that much tackle, which probably accounts for the handstands I did the other day when I landed a single plate sized bream.

Now for the serious bit "Shannons" is a company that seems to insure things that are not particularly mainstream. Also, can you not expand the coverage on your baggage insurance? Probably be dear, but in your case I can see what you mean.

My tackle is very close to that. I understand the dilemma.

My kit is locally insured for R60 000 minimum (AUD 3000), , but I only insure it for the maximum I could lose on any one trip. As such at best only 3/5's are ever insured.

Fly rods, reels, line and such accessories run up quickly - especially in the Sage and Loomis brands
