Motorguide fresh series in salt
Is anybody using a fresh water series Motorguide bow mount in salt? If so, have you had any problems? Can this be done successfully if it is washed thoroughly after every use?? I know they make a saltwater version but please don't respond about this.
Regards,
Wardy.

Re: Motorguide fresh series in salt
i had a freshwater motorguide and was told that the only diff in the saltwater and fresh is the colour (salt = white fresh = black ) but if you bought the black one just get bigger anodes, change the pin that holdes the prop on from gal to s/steel and vola...... you have a saltwater moterglide for the price of a freshwater model........

Do a search through boating chat... I've seen this question before, but couldn't tell you exactly where...
I think insideout is on the money, but from memory, there was something else as well...? As I said, have a look through boating (You may have to dig a bit) and you should get the good oil
Sorry couldn't be more helpful.

g'day
great question,
but as well as changing the prop pin,
wouldn't you have to put something on the contacts in the head to protect them from oxidising??
i've heard of some kind of spray thats protects them but can't remember what it's called..
