Thread: No fishin' next week.

    No fishin' next week.

Having been fishing on six out of the past eight nights, I now have to countenance no fishin' for the next week. Look at the weather forecast. below.

Oh well I have a list of things to do...

    1. Replace the skids on the boat trailer.
    2. Check/replace the back roller.
    3. Adjust the rollers to fit against the keel.
    4. Service my reels
    5. Get a scourer and clean off the surfaces of the boat. That bucket washing caper with a sponge still leaves caked on bits of bait and blood etc.
    6. Make up a few more ganged hooks.
    7. Make up a few traces and rigs with stingers.
    :
    :
    :
    :
    97. And oh yes, perhaps I should repair the back door.
    98. Paint the front door.
    100. Fix the wheel on the laundry trolley
    101. Pull some weeds out of the front garden
    102. Clean out the garage
    103. .........

Wonder how long the strong winds will last?

Ahhh... don't stress too much. I think we've all seen the forecast do a complete turnaround in the past.

What about fishing the creeks and Rivers for a change or try the freshwater scene. Anything would have to be better than doing chores.

    Probably everything after item 7.

And, maybe items 1 - 5 can wait a little longer as well.

Pretty sad isn't it charlie, i have already pulled my boat to bits, seems i did it at the right time. That forecast is dead right too for tonight, it's gotta be blowing every bit of 25 here on Russell Island at the moment.

Well Charleville, at least you should still have some fillets in the freezer the way you've been slaying them lately

Also gives the fish some R & R and time to restock for your next trip

Come to think of it you might want add painting the bottom of your hull to your chores as the fish will see it comming and say on No hear comes "Charleville" the fish slayer swim for your lives!!!!!

    LOL

Here's hoping the conditions change for the better sooooooooon so we can all go fishing.

    Peter.

I'm with you! Trying Estuary is not really the same, although you will get some good bream on my favorite bait around the Nerang/broadwater at night...... That's the only tempting alternative for me..

    Re: No fishin' next week.

Alright, first off, let me make the obligitory Jerry Seinfeldian, "Not that there's anything wrong with that," disclaimer so no one gets mad.

I have no problems with people's personal life-style choices or anything like that. What adults choose to do in their own private lives is their own business , etc., etc., etc. I understand that and am fine with it.

HOWEVER, I cannot believe that this is happening!!! I was all set to go fishing at Burnham harbor on Lake Michigan this saturday for some bass. Not going to happen. Definately, definately, definately not going to happen. The opening ceremonies of the "Gay Games" (I guess it's an olympics for gays or something) are taking place about a half block away from my favorite fishing spot! TRIP CANCELLED!!! Definately cancelled!

It gets better (and by that, I mean worse)! The thing runs all week long at various sites all around the city. I usually take the train to get to my fishing spots along the shoreline. I am NOT taking the train anywhere in the city for at least a week.

I'll bet having a weeks worth of fishing trips ruined due to wind suddenly seems easier to accept for you all.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! A week's worth of fishing shot ta hell due to the world sending their "happier" atheletes to my city to compete in who knows what!

So while you're doing your chores or loafing around the house next week thinking about fishing and cursing the weather gods for ruining your trips, spare a moment, won't you? , to think of your old pal, El_Carpo (the cursed one).....................................and stop yer laughing!!! >

.....and before anyone suggests, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." NO! Definately NOT! I'll stay with my avoiding plan.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Good old Seinfeld.
