    Whalesong from Hervey Bay

I just found an interesting recording of whalesong reportedly from a humpback in Hervey Bay.

This was from the Australia Post Website. Why?..................... dunno.

File size is pretty large (898K)

Sounds like a cow in labour, playing the flute.

I've heard whales during night diving in Byron and also during the day at Herron Island. They were a few kilometers away but very audible. I would say the calls were much longer and drawn out that the post above. Perhaps deeper.

When it's pitch black and your in midwater and all you can hear is the click of shrimps and whale song, it eerie and a humbling experience. Mumma whales I guess.
