River Fire !
Whats the go this year , this suddenly snuck up and not a word on permits for the event (not that i looked). Who is going ?

You still need a permit and flag to anchor in the river similar to previous years. The permits had to be got on the 19th of August (if memory serves).

Yes just checked it out , all gone next available July 2007 ... No loss as its kaos afterwards.

i queued up at 5.30am i think june 19th? a wednesday at Southbank Piazza.
they all went by 8am

How are the flags marked to make sure they go with the right boat?

Nothing special on the flags.
Just Riverfire Sept 2, 2006.
You also have a numbered permit from the Harbbourmaster, that is cross refernced in their data base with your vessels rego number.
Easy for them to look up your rego against their records to see if you are trying to pull a swifty. You had to produce valid rego papers on the day when getting the permit.
You must also have the permit on your vessel when you get there.
I am one of the lucky ones with a permit...will post on Sunday and let you know how it went.
