You have me worried putting down a loaded rod like that. seen one go over the side once and heard plenty of others have had it happen to them. Not that they admit it easilly, have to add plenty of luricant to get it out of them.
A mate lost a TLD15 and custom rod over the side and found it out the back of the local dive shop two years later. they gave it back in top working order

The rod rod I dropped was my spin outfit .I was just waiting for the lure to sink a bit after the cast.The only problem with that is when ya drop ya rod ya get ya Lure snagged up on the bottom some times
