hi would like to know if bream will take flys

Im no expert when it comes to fly fishing, but I do know a few fellas that regulary take bream on flys.
Im sure some body will give you the run down on types, wheres, and whens etc.

Fennel I fish a lot for brim with my fly rod in western victoria and find that i catch better Brim on Fly than i ever did on bait. I always use a sinking fly line and fish from my boat. Flies i use range from a Bushys Brim Fly to a hook with brass eyes and a strip of black or pink zonker strip. A deadly fly to use when the water is dirty is a Jellytail tied on a hook. I always fish deep for the Brim. I believe that any fly will catch Brim as long as you put it in front of there nose. On a recent trip i caught my biggest brim on fly 46cm and 2 at 40 cm. So always fish structure whether its a reef or around some pylons, and when it gets dark and the brim go quit its time to hit the Estuary Perch. Hope this helps you. Shane

shanebrits thanks 4 the info having no fly gear as such i was going to put a small barrel sinker in front of ab small swivel with a leader of 45 to 50cm to the fly. on a clear day you can see the bream but getting the bait passed the leather jackets and other **** is impossiable .anything is worth trying thanks fennel

If you can see them try a chartruse fly, or a wiggle tail. Whats wrong with catching jackets on fly. They are good tucker in fair sizes. Really good tucker. Max
